Bruce Faulconer composed A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW as one of the songs for his musical play, SCENES IN THE DARK, in November of 1992 for mezzo soprano, tenor, piano, and chamber orchestra, having collaborated with lyricist David Arthur. This is the solo piano and vocal version of the piece. The music and songs also appear in the feature film of the same title. The film won a First Prize in the Worldfest Houston International Film Festival in 1993. The song evokes an argument between lovers and their affair’s effect to themselves and the people in their lives. In the heat of passion, frustration, anger, they question themselves and their actions, and all is ultimately lost.
A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW, music by Bruce Faulconer and lyrics by David Arthur, is a song from the musical play, SCENES IN THE DARK. The difficulty level is suggested for performance by High School and College students, and Professional pianists and singers.
