This is an intermediate-level piano pedagogy piece that was supposed to be in memoriam to Bruce Berr, one of the greatest pedagogy faculty members ever, and where Charles took a piano pedagogy class at Roosevelt University as a student of that faculty member, in the early 1990s, when Charles was majoring in piano performance to eventually earn a BM degree in Piano.
The piece includes fingering, dynamics, and appropriate articulations. The fingering was provided by the composer of the composition.
The composition describes a maudlin lady who tries to do a waltz herself, pretending to be some type of ballerina in her dreams, to try to combat depression, but then another nightmare leads her to cry out in depression in a sort of relapse.
It is in a simple ABA form with a short coda.
