A Matter of Time

Here's a dynamic original work that will challenge your middle-level students with mixed time signatures and give your cello section the spotlight! Simple accompaniments that emphasize a steady beat are subverted by syncopated melodies and 2/4 interjections. The music settles into an even 3/4 in the middle section, but soon ramps back up to an exciting asymmetrical conclusion.
