A Prairie Hymn

The form of this warm and flowing work is straightforward with a well crafted melody and unpredictable and interesting harmonic structure. Distinct choirs of instrumental voices provide texture and color variety while active counterlines provide rhythmic interest. A solo horn, cued for trumpet, appears at the beginning and end and relays the peace and loneliness of the vast, wide-open prairie.
