A Swedish Melody, Haunting and Sublime

This arrangement is based on the Swedish folk song Oh Vrmeland, You Fair and Lovely Place, whose lyrics speak of the beauty of the landscape and the wonderful people that live there. It is presented with some alterations that capture the attractiveness of the melody and the sentiments expressed in the lyrics. The setting provides a work of artistic value that's appropriate for performance, easy enough for many bands to play, and gives the ensemble a chance to develop intonation, balance, and phrasing.
