Inspired by the aria “Ombra mai fú” from Handel’s opera Serse, this Agnus Dei is an expressive arrangement with a range of D4–A5 (Tenor D3–A4) and optional lower notes for those times when the most dramatic pitches may not be appropriate. An interlude provides a moment for reflection and an elaboration of the “dona nobis pacem” provides a modest closing cadenza. Agnus Dei is suitable for church service or concert. Solo parts for Oboe and B flat Clarinet are included. All versions are also available with piano accompaniment.
