Rodrigo's personality and culture are ever present in his vocal songs with guitar. His wife, Victoria, was invaluable to him as she wrote or adapted text as well as provided translations. This album brings together 31 songs composed between 1928 and 1988 that are among his most beautiful works. Rodrigo originally wrote some of these songs for voice and guitar, but a majority of them were composed for voice and piano. This beautiful anniversary edition is the first published volume that includes the guitar transcriptions of his original piano accompaniments, and it celebrates the lives and contributions of Joaquin and Victoria Rodrigo on the 20th anniversary of his death in 1999.
