Alfred's Basic Chord Approach: a Method for the Later Beginner

Lesson Book 2 allows the student to progress, smoothly and easily, without gaps, toward the development of technique and knowledge required to play intervals of the 6th, 7th and octave. The student is soon able to play over a wider range of the keyboard, moving easily out of five-finger positions. New rhythms are introduced with special emphasis on those involving dotted quarter and eighth notes. The major scales and primary chords of C, G and D Major are introduced as well. After completing Level 2 of Alfred's Basic Chord Approach, the student may continue to the Level 3 books of Alfred's Basic Piano Course or any early intermediate-level method.
