A dramatic original work that sets text from Revelation 8-11, this virtuosic and exciting work isolates one apocalyptic sequence – the sounding of seven trumpets, each one heralding a more horrific event than the trumpet before it. A few short lyrical solo lines in the middle break up the frantic pace of the beginning, then beautiful homophonic harmonies bring a tranquil contrasting section before a reprise of the dramatic opening melts into a soft but ominous closing.

Here is an exuberant a cappella number that's loaded with African atmosphere! The traditional Zambian words are sung throughout with such a buoyant, rhythmic feel that you are transported into the center of a native celebration. The lyric translates as "All that sing have the right to be called the children of God." The song is brief, but may be repeated as many times as desired. Various voicing options are possible, and African percussion may be added as the piece progresses. Your choir will definitely want to improvise some celebratory whoops and shouts!

"The voice of the people is the voice of God..." Vox populi, vox Dei opens with a fortissimo fanfare-like passage in B-flat major. The basses then introduce a marcato ostinato, followed by the tenors with a rhythmically contrasting theme. The women enter together, with syncopated rhythms, then all voices unite at the text "Ubi Concordia" ("Where there is unity"). The music of the opening fanfare returns to conclude this high-energy a cappella work.

Sweetly sentimental, John Howard Payne's text is beautifully set in this concert piece that can be effectively programmed for final concerts or graduation events. The verses feature first the upper voices and then the lower in unison before breaking into tender harmonies, and a flowing melody line gently carries the lyrics throughout.
