This is Book 1 of AltStrings Fiddle Method for Violin (Orchestra), Second Edition. The second edition of AltStrings Fiddle Method Books 1 and 2 comes in two flavors: Original Key (for Violin only), and Orchestra, which matches the viola, cello and bass books! Whichever series you choose, our books offer tunes and techniques that complement and reinforce the skills students are learning in their private lessons or orchestra classes. Book 1 offers players a solid start on the instrument, and includes an introduction to the skills needed for playing chords and chopping. Book 2 continues to build on these skills, not only guiding players through progressively more difficult tunes, but also building skills in playing backup chords (applied music theory!), backup rhythms, chopping, ornamentation, and creating twin fiddle/harmony parts.
