Amazing Grace - Fantasia for Solo Piano

Published in the Colne 'Piano Prayer and Praise' series, this is a fantasia by Alan Bullard on the traditional American hymn, 'Amazing Grace'. Quite possibly derived originally from a Scottish folk-tune, 'Amazing Grace' as we know it first appeared in several early nineteenth-century American hymn-tune collections, where it was often known as New Britain'. This fantasia develops the melody in a classical/early romantic manner a style appropriate to the time of its first publication.
