American Images

The four piano solos found in the American Images collection are musical pictures of four areas of our country that are very special for me. Part of my family has lived in Arizona for many years and I have wonderful memories of visiting Sabino Canyon. Since I grew up on Long Island, NY, I remember visiting Fire Island when I was a child. After looking at pictures of beautiful sunsets in this area, I knew I wanted to write about this place. One of my aunts was a professor at the University of Michigan. Once, long ago, I traveled with my husband from Houston, Texas to Ann Arbor. It was fall and we hadnit seen beautiful colored leaves for a couple of years. While we waited for my family, who were attending a football game, I remember shuffling through the leaves in her neighborhood and feeling very joyful. Attending Winter Ice Festival in Leavenworth, WA. Is on my bucket list. From what I have read, it sounds like great fun.
