This piece is dedicated to Dr. Dennis Cox and The University of Maine Singers as a tribute to the great musical adventure we shared when I was a student at The University of Maine in 1999. Of course there are many pieces that carry the title "An Irish Blessing" The first piece I ever sang in The Maine Center for the Arts was entitled "An Irish Blessing" back in 1995, and singing that piece with Dr. Richard Nickerson was the first time I ever heard the name Dr. Dennis Cox. That was the beginning of my great adventure, and I wanted to write and dedicate my own Irish Blessing to this excellent time in my life. A great mentor and friend, and one of the most brilliant and charismatic Choral Conductors ever. Cheers to DC!
