An Organ Book of Spirituals

Originally released in 1966, this landmark collection was one of the first collections ever published dedicated to organ arrangements of African American spirituals. To allow for the widest use possible, Hancock intentionally aimed to write settings suitable for any size organ and by organists of any skill level. Though distinctive in sound, the arrangements are thus straightforward in texture, and the use of pedal is optional.
