Anchored

A fun piece for young players that reinforces the practice of leaving fingers down, "anchored" to the fingerboard. With a nautical flavor, the piece explores staccato and legato articulation along with striking dynamic contrast. Low second-finger patterns only occur in the first violin part, and fourth finger use is encouraged for all upper strings. The set includes Viola parts in treble clef and Violin 2 parts in alto clef for ensemble flexibility. All sections get to play the powerful melody in this dramatic concert selection!
