Angel Band

This collection stands as a full Christmas cantata in a truly American style. Songs and carols come primarily from the Appalachian shape-note tradition but also include some Moravian and Celtic songs. Each movement can stand alone, but together they tell the Christmas story. The extensive program notes include programming options for a variety of worship services as well as concert performance. The orchestration adds intriguing colors including bluegrass instruments.
