Arirang

Arirang for Orff Instruments Recorder and Unison voices paints a musical picture that captures the mystical mood of the hills and forests of Korea. The flowing sound of the melody is sung then played on recorder behind a musical background that uses gentle mallet parts and unique percussive sounds to represent forest elements. This work gives young students a chance to explore how sounds can paint a musical picture and create a mood that transports both the performer and the listener to a far away land. When programmed with other more energetic works Arirang creates a nice contrast giving the audience a calming breath of fresh air.For grades 5 or 6.Format: Score with instructional notes.
