The poems of 28 Alaskan women were published in the 1993 collection poetryALASKAwomen, in conjunction with the international festival for women composers, musicALASKAwomen of the same year. From this impressive publication, Cynthia Folio as selected four poems as the basis for her moving tribute, At the Edge of Great Quiet, each imparting a strong impression of Alaska life through the eyes of its women.
