"Ave, Verum Corpus" for glockenspiel/bell quartet (choir) can be performed with 4-16 players. It is ideal for a beginning percussion class during second semester, although it would also work with middle school students.Even though it is arranged for glockenspiels/bells, the instrumentation really is flexible. The ranges would need to be adjusted, since the glockenspiel sounds two octaves higher than written. This arrangement teaches students to play independent parts, as opposed to unison parts, and introduces ties on some of the parts.
