Awake, My Soul, Awake

Written using AAB form, the six verses of this Advent hymn tell of the coming of Christ as the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies. It closes with a rousing doxology. The use of modality throughout the work reflects ancient themes but remains accessible. Parts for guitar and solo instrument in C are provided.
