Awaken

Inspired by the timeless sounds of Holst and Vaughan Williams, this vibrant flourish in 3/4 time evokes the classic voice of the concert band. With soaring melodies and colorful scoring, it is elegant and energetic – an ideal concert or festival opener. This is the first movement of "Aspects," a larger work commissioned by the American Band Directors Association, and can be performed on its own or as part of the full suite.
