Basic Geometry

The title of this work is a reference to the geometric formulas and figures used to spur the rhythmic and phrase concepts. The opening section utilizes phrase lengths based on the Pythagorean theorem. The second section is based loosely on the shortened numerical representation of pi in the rhythmic groupings. The third section is inspired by the Fibonacci series, after which selected passages from the opening two sections appear, leading to an aggressive ensemble conclusion. A unique concept that translates to a fantastic piece!
