Basso Arioso

Performance Notes ***** Basso Arioso is an adaptation of the famous bass aria O Isis und Osiris from Mozart's opera The Magic Flute. The solo part is intended for 2nd year students of instruments which are typically heard in the bass or baritone registers. Solo parts are provided for Bass Clef instruments, B-flat instruments and E-Flat instruments. The left hand of the piano accompaniment includes optional notes which double the solo line. These notes may or may not be played at the discretion of the pianist. To those who are not familiar with this aria, a quick web search of "O Isis und Osiris" will produce many famous operatic bass performances. A successful performance of this selection will rely on phasing, breath control and a beautiful legato tone.
