Beloved, Sleep Well

Serving as the epilogue to Warner's larger musical work "The Passion of Saint John," this anthem features an original hymn tune, CODLADH, with text that captures the sorrowful mood of Good Friday. The soprano solo is prevalent throughout the entire piece, accompanied by an often-wordless SATB choir with piano (or harp) and/or guitar. Lasting about two minutes, with a delicate, quiet conclusion, this composition is solemn and evocative, drawing listeners in to reflect on Christ's sacrifice upon the cross.
