Bill Swick's 36 First-Position Studies

This reproducible resource is ideal for teaching sight-reading. To perform these exercises, student will need to be able to read all of the notes in first position on all six strings. The first six studies are in the key of C major or A minor with no sharps or flats in the key signature. The keys get gradually harder, adding one sharp or one flat up to two flats and three sharps. Rhythms are mostly straight eighth notes or quarter notes. These studies are ideal for weekly or biweekly playing tests. Ideal for year 2 students.
