Black Knight

This concert piece for young orchestra is written to provide dramatic effects and lyrical melodies while encouraging students to develop their skills with contrasting styles of bowing and phrasing. It makes effective use of off-string bowings, and bow division concepts can be effectively taught with it, too. The second theme is an excellent vehicle for developing vibrato.
