Black Tie Blu-Bop

How do you describe music combining elements of bluegrass, jazz, funk, blues, and just about everything else in between? "Blu-bop!" To further diversify this veritable hodgepodge of styles, it is  written for symphonic band in that most classical (and formal) of forms, the sonata - hence the "black tie" element. Tightly constructed, the piece grooves despite tricky asymmetrical meters - and most of all, it gets audiences and players excited!
