Blackbird

The haunting and distinctive Blackbird, from The Beatles' White Album, is adapted here in a moderate and soft samba style in the Little Big Band format. Trumpet and alto sax are featured on the melody and for written or improvised solos. This creative chart also has some nice ensemble trades with the drums. Flexibly scored for three saxes, two trumpets, one trombone, and four rhythm with optional additional parts for alto sax, tenor sax and trombone.
