A transcription for brass quintet of the Paul Manz organ setting on the tune Liebster Jesu, wir sind hier. The melody is beautifully ornamented and almost takes on a new life of its own. The French horn is assigned the cantus firmus for the most part. The piece is perfectly suited for this instrumentation, which provides a flexible, fluid quality to the hymn tune.
