A 5 minute work for Concert Band

The Finger Rock Trail is a long difficult trail in the Santa Catalina mountains north of Tucson.
I have used this as a metaphor for the long difficult trail I think we face as a country.

  harmonies.

This piece is dedicated to the proposition that ALL people, regardless of
  race, religion, gender or sexual orientation are created equal and deserve
  equal protection under the law.
    
    
    
    The main body of the piece alternates between two themes. The first is
  intended to convey a sense of anger while the second conveys sadness. The
  ending section uses the 60's civil rights anthem "We Shall
  Overcome" to evoke a sense of hope and optimism for the future.

Overture for Equality

This quartet is meant to be played by almost any combination of 4
  instruments with the appropriate ranges. A String Quartet, a woodwind
  quartet, a Clarinet Quartet, a Saxophone Quartet or a Brass Quartet would be
  obvious choices but any combination of the above instruments (or other
  suitable instruments) could and should be used.
    
    
    
    It is, of course, a political statement of anger and frustration at a world
  plagued by dictators and despots (or wannabes) who would deprive people of
  their freedoms and rights for purely tyrannical reasons

Trumpet Solo with String Orchestra

This piece is a set of variations on two different holiday songs for two
  woodwind quartets. The first is a Hanukah song titled Mi Ze Hidlik and the
  second is a very famous Christmas song that you should recognize sometime
  before the end. The variations alternate between the two songs and between
  the two quartets until the end where both songs and quartets are combined.
