Description: Bossa Rio is a Latin piece in three sections written for the early intermediate pianist. Purpose: This piece may be considered as a companion to Aretta's Rhumba. Both were designed as fun introductory works to the world of Latin jazz. Each piece, however, offers its own unique technical challenges. Bossa Rio has a more active left hand part containing syncopation and melody. Suggestions for Instruction: Rhythm is the key to a successful performance! Be sure to work out each new rhythm carefully and accurately. Note that many rhythms are repeated again and again. So once they are learned correctly they may be applied to many different melodic phrases. Key: A minor 6 p.
