Brandenburg No.2

This rather large medium level mallet ensemble, for ten performers, captures some of the finest musical works of the Baroque era. Adapting music for performance in a variety of instrumental settings was a common practice in the Baroque period. Today, Bach's music continues to thrive and presents a perfect vehicle for the percussion ensemble to showcase some of the most rhythmic music ever written. Scored for bells, chimes, two xylophones, vibraphone, 4-octave marimba, 4.3-octave marimba (shared), 5-octave marimba (shared).
