Break Through

Here's an opportunity for young bands to perform a lyrical and dramatic work! This musical representation of the struggle to pass through a barrier will introduce performers to the dark resonance created by the use of a minor key. Percussion is used as a primary voice to complement the strong melodic and countermelodic content presented by the winds. Use of the relative major key creates valuable teaching moments. The return to a contemplative ending will entertain while also offering moments to teach about the use of emotion as a performance practice.
