This is a whimsical work written for concert band.  The music tells the story of a group of giraffes who head into space.  Along the way they observe Aliens flying by and the musicians have some fun with their mouthpieces.  One instrument uses unusual equipment on their instrument to create the sounds of the giraffe.

This is a novelty grade 4 concert march and was recently awarded as a finalist in the American Prize competition for the performing arts pops/light division. If you enjoy laughter than this is the march for you. The music begins with a trick on the audience where the brass section uses their mouthpieces to sound like a duck. Later in the trio kazoos will create a cute and fun duck chorus. The final section includes a technical and lively piccolo solo.  There is also an optional Eb clarinet to add extra color and fun to the trio section.

Always in Tune: A guide to wind instrument tuning is designed to help band directors
learn about and teach their musicians the ins and outs of tuning.
The guide includes tips on how to tune individual instruments as well as the full ensemble.
Each band instrument is covered in depth including recommendations for posture, embouchure, and
equipment.  Each instrument's pitch tendencies are revealed along with suggestions on how to
improve intonation through the use of alternative fingerings and adjustments with the embouchure.
There are warm-up and tone exercises included along with fingering charts and scales.
