Buehrer Concerto in Ab Major No. 1, NM. III/5

This piece was composed and dedicated to my fiancee. It is written in the style of a concerto with three movements. However, each movement is scored for a different solo instrument, as to represent a few of the instruments that the dedication recipient can effectively play. Each of the movement's length reflects the overall proficiency in each instrument, as well as the difficulty level of the solo instrument's line composition. The concerto retains elements of neoclassicism, minimalism, and possibly the opportunity for musique concrete, since the solo harp in the second movement would likely need to be digitally amplified in some manner or pre-recorded to play during the movement, considering the instrument's lack of amplification ability. The work is scored for the following: 1 solo viola, 1 solo harp, 1 solo Bb trumpet, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 bassoons, 2 Bb trumpets, 2 french horns, timpani, violin I, violin II, viola, violoncello, and contrabass.
