Bull City Fanfare

This exciting opener or closer, easily accessible to most high school or community bands, is named for Bull City, Durham, North Carolina. Played with a steady tempo that features moving low brass lines answered with woodwind counterpoints and an aggressive horn section, this is an excellent showcase for each section of the band. The percussion section is an integral part of the composition's fabric and the extensive use of toms, hand drums, tambourine, and cymbals lets performers develop skills on these important percussion elements. An excellent choice for concert or contest, or program this for an interesting and different overture.
