"Busca la Alegria" is a full orchestra work that is born out of the necessity of finding happiness, it was composed in early January 2022, when there was a lot of social distancing, cancelled events and uncertainty. As I was going through a difficult time, since everything around me was not looking very positive, I needed to make a huge effort to find something positive within myself, creating thus, this work.
I presented this work to the Inaugural Composition Competition for female Composers from the Canary Islands (Spain) and I won the award, which led to the world premiere by the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, in Gran Canaria, Spain.
The music has a motive that at the beginning is very light, short and "unimportant", but as the piece develops, this motive becomes the main theme of the piece, simulating the happiness reappearing and taking over.
The duration is approximately 6:30.
