Written to celebrate Quitman, Georgia, nicknamed "the Camellia City," this march is written in the traditional style of Henry Fillmore. Starting with a light, happy woodwind melody with simple flourishes from the low brass, it then moves through dynamic changes before a trio that features low clarinets and euphonium with a unique woodblock percussion accompaniment. The march ends with a return to brass flourishes. With minimal technical and range demands, this work is accessible to a wide range of ensembles. Use this work to teach the classic march style.
