Canon Fanfare is a short, 2-minute fanfare that includes a musical canon. It was composed at the very end of 2020 and in the first few days of 2021. As the tumultuous year 2020 came to a close and we turned the page to a new year, I had an idea. What if I started off 2021 with a fanfare, a celebration of what is surely a hopeful year for many people? Canon Fanfare was born out of this desire. The work is essentially an A-B-A' form, with an opening fanfare section (mm. 1-18) a canon (mm. 18-44) and a closing fanfare (mm.45-end).
