Carol of the Bells/Shchedryk

As crafted for the BYU Singers of Brigham Young University, this exciting and fast-paced arrangement of the traditional Ukrainian bell carol is full of surprises and creativity from beginning to end. The familiar melody and text are set with mixed and asymmetrical meter and rhythmic ostinatos, surrounded by full divisi a cappella harmonies for eight parts. Beginning in English and then transitioning to the traditional Ukrainian lyrics, it is a holiday showpiece for choirs that can handle the challenge.
