Carol of the Nativity

This anthem is a pensive consideration of the mystery of the Incarnation; the mystery of Jesus' birth to the Virgin Mary and the mystery of God's plan in sending the Messiah as a helpless babe. The minor key foreshadows the trials and death that this newborn Child will face in the years to come.
