Cat's Meow, The

Here's a straight ahead swinger that has many references to Benny Golson's classic Killer Joe. It has a terrific melody and feel and some nice sectional interplay. The melody is a very simple riff that repeats at different levels over the course of the form, allowing players to focus on the style and phasing. There are some plunger mute effects that add much to the character of the tune. Good chart at the easy grade level!
