Drum Set Solo Collection

A medium advanced composition for Jazz Ensemble. The composition starts with a moody "film noiresque" opening. It then explodes it to a steamy samba. Prior to the swing solo section there is an optional improvised piano cadenza. This cadenza was recorded masterfully by Jazz Pianist Dave Gleason on Chad Lenig's virtually present big band album "Chaukhamba". The arrangement features several style changes but is playable by an advanced HS Jazz Ensemble. If you are looking for a challenging adventure for your group this piece is an excellent choice!

<p>“Through The Eyes of the Falcon” starts with a solo that can be played any of the Part 1 or Part 2 instruments. This piece is designed to sound good when played by 15 players or 100 players. With interesting percussion parts and extended compositional techniques it is an opportunity to introduce a Middle School group to this style of composition. This piece is an exciting musical representation of a birds eye perspective a falcon experience while in flight. This is a perfect choice for an advancing ensemble with unique instrumentation. </p>
