This reflective piece for choir uses the translation of a quote often attributed to Teresa of Avila, but more likely dating to the mid-19th century. The recurring theme in the text of Christ having "no body now but yours" does not diminish the presence of Christ in the Eucharist, but reinforces the belief that, by partaking of the Body of Christ, we become his body and so make him present to others through our action in the world. This gentle piece can also be sung as a solo piece, with unison choir, or even by the assembly once they have become familiar with it. Haunting and beautiful.
