Christmas Songs, Op. 8

Nineteenth-century poet-composer Peter Cornelius, who was a friend of Franz Liszt and Richard Wagner, wrote both music and lyrics to this collection of six Christmas songs about the birth of Christ. Based on the originals, this arrangement for mixed chorus, soprano solo, and piano offers each song in both German and English text: Christbaum/The Christmas Tree; Die Hirten/The Shepherds; Die Konige/The Kings; Simeon; Christus der Kinderfreund/Christ the Friend of Children; Christkind/The Christ-Child.
