Classical to Romantic

This lesson plan may be used in either band class or general music classes. In band class it may be used with Themes of 19th Century Composers for Band, (available from J.W. Pepper). This plan shows how Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert were transitional figures, whose changes in compositional style ushered in the Romantic period of music. The plan includes an instruction page, audio examples, vocabulary, an adaptable sample multiple choice assessment, an answer key, and an order of instruction page with national core standards listed.
