Colors in Motion

An invigorating intermediate-level piece for string orchestra and optional harp comes to life with bristling sixteenth-note runs and a heroic, bounding melody. The music dives into a contrasting minor key and flows into a gentle middle section before returning to a dashing, triumphant conclusion. Students will get a chance to play a variety of 6/8 rhythms involving sixteenth notes, work on their first-finger extensions, and experience some moderate part independence. Students will love playing this piece as they master important intermediate-level skills.
