An excellent showcase for the characteristics of Baroque style, this artful transcription uses imitation equally in all four parts and opposing instrumental groups in pairs. Rich harmonies, expressive musicality in the slower movements, and vigorous motion in the fast movements provide lots of contrast in this masterful rendition for four alto saxophones.
