Concerto No. 1 for Trumpet

Stephenson's most-performed concerto. A two-movement piece beginning with a wonderfully lyric Adagio, and ending with an Allegro displaying technical virtuosity. Originally written in 2003, the concert band/wind ensemble version was commissioned by the Charles Schlueter Foundation for premiere at the 2007 ITG conference. Premiered by Jeffrey Work as soloist, and accompanied by the US Coast Guard Band, directed by CDR Kenneth W. Megan. Duration 22'.
