Cool Yule

A jovial jaunt on television personality Steve Allen's tribute to the holiday season courtesy of Sherman Irby, "Cool Yule" will be a delight for both your band to play and your audience to listen to. Originally written to feature vocalist Catherine Russell, your singer's performance should seek to match the light playfulness of hers. The ensemble sections bear more than a passing resemblance to the classic style of the Count Basie orchestra, and should be played in a similar manner. There is an open solo section in addition to a specific solo section for tenor saxophone.
